UPDATE 4: I recently learned that if I'm using google hangouts and share a TAB with a YouTube video, it streams perfectly with audio, which makes sense because its coming straight from google servers. Its probably worth uninstalling and reinstalling everything, but any insights would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy it's working, but I'm not sure what to tell my colleagues who use this setup on their laptops. The mic wasn't coming through, so I created a new audio input set to my laptop mic and it works perfectly as well. I closed OBS, Opened it again and switched the monitoring channel back to CABLE input, and suddenly it worked. Could be a problem with OBS and not VB audio cable? UPDATE 2: I tried setting monitor output to my laptop speakers and my laptop speaker output to the proper output and still no dice. UPDATE 1: Not working on MS Teams either. I am going to try uninstalling and re-installing the latest version of VB Audio Cable, OBS and Virtual Cam in that order and investigate on the OBS forums further. I'm assuming this issue is related to a recent windows update, but there is also a new version of OBS available to download. This doubles as a backup audio source for voice if the audio fails, and as a wireless mic if our wireless microphone fails when we are doing live trainings. In order to monitor the audio we always log into the same meeting on a separate device with headphones (usually a cellphone) and mute this microphone. OBS scenes are set up with a screen share of a ppt slide deck and separate scenes for some videos.Each scene has the computer microphone jack set as an audio source.Videos automatically create an audio sources.All audio sources under "advanced audio settings" are set to "monitor and output".In the settings window under the audio tab the monitor channel is set to "VB cable input".In Google Hangouts settings Microphone is set to "VB cable output". Virtual Camera plugin installed (still works perfectly).VB audio cable plugin installed on windows 10 laptop (free version).
My colleague noticed it suddenly stop working earlier this week and I gave it a test this morning and found the same problem. Hi Fellow Streamers,My team and I have noticed that our OBS setup no longer sends audio through VB audio cable.
